Gunmen Abduct RCCG Pastor, Catholic Priest In Kogi

Some unkniwn gunmen reportedly abducted a Catholic priest and a RCCG pastor, demanding for ransom

Some unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted The Reverend Father presiding on Saint of Michael Catholic Church Obajana and a yet to be identified pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The Reverend father identified as Father Leo Michael was and the RCCG pastor was abducted at Irepeni, a village in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi state.

Speaking on the incidence, the Diocesan Chancellor of Lokoja Diocese, Bishop Peter Adinoyi said “The abductors came from the bush near the Irepeni village and dragged down Rev Leo Micheal and one other person believed to be a pastor with RCCG and sped off into the bush, leaving the two vehicles parked along the road.”

He added that some members of the church have been contacted by the abductors to demand ransom. He said the ransom has been reduced from N50m to N8m.

“They threatened to do the worst if their demand is not met,” he added.

The Bishop condemned the acts, saying poor people are usually the victims f the dastardly act that is now common in the state.

Confirming the incidence, the state Kogi State Police Public Relations officer, ASP William Aya said though he was aware the Rev’d Father was abducted, he was unaware a RCCG pastor was also missing.
